Brackt 1.4.14 is on the App Store. It's a quiet release, but it touches the parts you use every time: the merge itself, the choices you make about your data, and how plainly the app explains what you get.
Updates reach iPhones gradually over a few days. If you don't see it yet, you can update by hand from the App Store.
Steadier HDR merges
HDR merges now keep more natural colors, so skies and haze no longer pick up a cyan tint. We fixed crashes that could happen when merging large RAW brackets, especially on iPad. Switching tone mapping styles on a finished merge is smoother and more stable, and saving a full quality TIFF now uses much less memory.
A new Settings screen
Tap the gear on the home screen to find privacy, notifications, Help and support in one place.
Privacy comes first there. You choose whether Brackt shares usage statistics and crash reports, and you can change your mind at any time. Your photos stay on your device either way: merging, editing and exporting all happen on your iPhone or iPad.
Offer notifications have their own switch. Turn it on and Brackt asks iOS for permission. If notifications for Brackt are off in iOS, the screen says so and gives you a button that opens Settings.
Clearer Pro
We rewrote how Pro is explained. Every merge includes 16-bit TIFF export and full RAW support, whether you pay or not. Pro does one thing: it removes the merge limit. The upgrade screen only shows offers you can actually use.
Small things that matter
VoiceOver labels are clearer, and the selected merge mode now shows a visible checkmark, so you always know which one is on.
Fresh free merges
Everyone gets a new set of free merges with this update. If you used yours up, this is a good moment to go out and shoot a few brackets.
Brackt is now from VOID STD
You may notice a new name on the App Store listing. VOID STD is the new name of the software house behind Brackt. The app is the same, and so are the people making it. There's more in Void, itself.
Thanks for shooting with Brackt. Keep the brackets coming.
